Npuls presents the magazine Lifelong learning with microcredentials

From a pilot in hbo and wo to being embedded in dozens of mbo, hbo and wo schools in the Netherlands – microcredentials are becoming an increasingly recognised concept in tertiair education. It’s time for a magazine full of information and inspiration for teachers and other educational professionals!

Microcredentials: a relatively new but increasingly familiar concept in tertiair education. Since 2021 microcredentials were given a place in hbo and wo via a pilot during the Acceleration Plan. And within Npuls, we continue this job – again in hbo and wo sector, but also in the mbo sector. Time to look back at all the lessons learned and to look ahead to the future of microcredentials. All is captured in the microcredentials magazine.

When small steps suddenly add up
This magazine captures the movement around microcredentials in mbo, hbo and wo. Because small steps (in 2021) suddenly became quite big, as Eslbeth Vonkeman (liaison Npuls on behalf of the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences) writes. In the magazine, you will read about the added value of microcredentials, lessons learned from the pilot, vision of the future and microcredentials in figures, among other things. Almost 50 pages of interviews, columns, reflections and more.

“If you’re thinking: what again are micro-credentials? What do we need to set up for them? What can we gain from them? Then there’s one answer: ‘Read the magazine!’
– Ulrike Wild, captain of aanvoerder hub Flexible Learning Pathways Transformation Hub
