We have new reinforcements at the Transformation Hub Digital Educational Resources! Expert in open educational resources, Matilda Rizopulos, will be actively involved in the national Community edusources alongside her work at ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland. Together with other experts, she is dedicated to promoting knowledge sharing, innovation, and the promotion of open educational resources. Her ambition is to identify and represent the needs of vocational education concerning digital educational resources.
Matilda Rizopulos is an Instructional Designer at ROC van Amsterdam–Flevoland and a part of the Content Creation team. In two years, the team has created a substantial amount of digital open educational resources with and for the teachers and programs at ROC van Amsterdam-Flevoland. Matilda has been closely involved in this effort. She is the creative partner of the teachers and is responsible for leading the design steps, from analysis to final evaluation. “It’s particularly rewarding when the teachers see the final product and feel proud of the educational materials we have created together.”
Role and ambition
Matilda’s role within the expert team is to gather and represent the needs of vocational education training schools concerning digital educational resources. She sees many opportunities to combine efforts to develop, share, and use open educational resources in vocational education training schools. This includes creating high-quality open collections linked to industry sectors and domains, open elective modules, and open VR/XR materials, among other things. With the expertise, involvement, and questions from the Community edusources, these plans and ideas can be strengthened and accelerated.
Community edusources
Matilda invites her colleagues in vocational education training schools to participate in the Community edusources. All ideas and questions from vocational education are welcome. “Open educational resources are a topic to learn about together. No one has all the answers on how exactly to do this. So in the community, I hope we dare to experiment and pilot together in the community – with trial and error!”
