A shift is taking place in the field of assessment. Whereas testing used to function mainly as an assessment moment, we see that the emphasis is increasingly on the learner’s development. In addition, the digitalisation of testing has taken off. Both developments present vocational education training schools, universities of applied sciences and research universities with challenges. To collaboratively find the answers to these challenges, Npuls is launching the pilot hub Digital Assessment on 1 January 2025. The core question of the pilot hub is: how can testing contribute to the optimal development of the learner? With various projects, the hub offers educational professionals tools to fit formative assessment into education, choosing the right digital support. Through this approach, institutions can better support the learning process and increase flexibility in assessment.
An important part of the pilot hub is strengthening public values within digital testing. This is done by exploring open source software, developing data exchange standards and designing a target architecture for open test and question banks, among other things.
The pilot hub is in line with the growing need for cooperation between educational institutions around complex issues in testing, as revealed by an exploration of Npuls in 2024. By helping educational institutions get to grips with educational and organisational challenges, the pilothub aims to contribute to future-proof education in which testing is an integral part of the learning process.
With this pilothub, Npuls offers a unique opportunity to collaboratively work on innovative solutions.
