From a pilot in higher professional education (hbo) and academic education (wo) to integration into numerous vocational education and training schools, universities of applied sciences, and research universities in the Netherlands, microcredentials are becoming an increasingly familiar concept in tertiary education. This is why we have published a magazine full of information and inspiration for lecturers and other educational professionals.

Microcredentials: a relatively new but increasingly familiar concept in continuing education. Since 2021, there has been steady progress in educational institutions: microcredentials have been introduced in higher professional education and university education through a pilot project in the Acceleration Plan. And within Npuls, we are continuing this work in secondary vocational education, higher professional education, and university education. What are the lessons learned from the pilot? And what does the future of microcredentials look like? Also: what is the added value of microcredentials? Time to take stock. In other words: time for a magazine!
