How do you go about improving digital skills? Many actions are being undertaken within Npuls and beyond – not only by educational institutions themselves but also by a wide range of organisations that focus on digital skills development in educational institutions and in society, each from a different perspective. How can Npuls provide added value?

In the report, we start with definitions and models that describe digital skills and elements from relevant practice. We also zoom in on critical and functional skills and present examples of initiatives aimed at improving digital skills.

Drawing on this report, Npuls will consider subsequent steps to be taken in the coming period. Because of Npuls’ positioning in tertiary education, we can:

  • provide oversight;
  • make connections;
  • work on developing a common vision;
  • identify blind spots;
  • contribute through knowledge development.

In these efforts, we seek to align with the Lifelong Learning Catalyst (LLO Katalysator) and with other programmes in the Dutch National Growth Fund (Nationaal Groeifonds) focused on improving digital skills in their sectors.
