Peer group Digital Transformation launched

Publicatie datum October 16, 2025

The first meeting of the Digital Transformation Peer Group took place on 2 October. This is a new learning programme from Npuls and the Comenius Network in which teachers and teaching assistants work together on digital transformation. In four meetings, twelve pairs will tackle a current issue within their own institution.

Working together for greater impact

Npuls and the Comenius Network are both working to create a future-proof education sector. By enabling target groups, teacher support staff and teachers to work together more effectively and share knowledge, they can make a greater impact. This idea gave rise to the peer group.

Learning from and with each other

The idea for the peer group arose during a co-creation session with interested parties. Together, they determined what the peer group should achieve and what approach would be appropriate: learning from and with each other, space for reflection and experimentation, and above all, a clear link to practice. This means that participants not only work on their digital issues, but also gain insight into their own role as change agents. They learn to deal with uncertainties and resistance from colleagues and students, and strengthen learning and collaboration in teams. After this session, pairs could sign up for the peer group. Twelve pairs from vocational education, higher professional education and university education have started.

Digital transformation and associated (public) values

The peer group consists of four full-day meetings. The last meeting will take place in February. The theme of the first meeting was digital transformation and associated (public) values. The participants got to know each other and each other's issues and got to work on their action plans. In addition, AI expert Hans Hoornstra gave a workshop on AI literacy and public values.

During the next three meetings, the participants will continue working on their action plans, focusing on the themes of change management, stakeholder involvement and sustainable impact. Among other things, they will address questions such as:

  • How do you get colleagues on board during a change process?
  • What does digital transformation mean for teamwork?
  • How do you ensure that innovation is truly embedded in education in a sustainable way?

Reactions from participants

The initial reactions from participants have been positive:

"The great thing about these kinds of meetings is that you meet people with similar roles (like-minded people). It puts things into perspective and is reassuring to know that the challenges you face within your own organisation are also present at other institutions. We are all searching for answers."

"My main insight is that it is so valuable to look at an issue from different perspectives in order to zoom out and get a picture of all the relevant perspectives for working together on the issue."

Experiences and feedback

After the four meetings, the peer group is evaluated. The feedback from the participants is used to further develop the peer group. If the setup works well, a new group of teachers and teaching assistants will start working on their own issues in 2026.
