Important milestone
The realisation is an important moment in the OKE project. OKE is an initiative to digitally link your Student Information System (SIS), your planning application and test-taking system. To a large extent, these are currently separate systems. A lot of data is processed manually. ‘That takes a lot of time, there are many chances of error, and it takes longer for students to see their results. With the links, this can be done better and faster. It reduces the administrative burden at the institutions,’ explains Hans Swart, OKE project leader.
The delivery works for the maths exams of the Coöperatie Examens MBO in the following configurations: Eduarte (including the exam planning module TEL) and Remindo, Peoplesoft with the planning application OnTrac and Remindo and Osiris with the planning application OnTrac and Remindo. This makes the links working for almost the entire mbo. The digital data exchange takes place on the basis of the standard Open Education API (OOAPI).
Follow-up steps for digital links
Because of the delivery, connecting other content exam suppliers is relatively easy. As a result, we can quickly expect an expansion of the offering in mbo within the delivered configurations. In 2025, we are expected to deliver links for practical exams as well.
This milestone also gives the opportunity to explore digital data exchange (based on the OOAPI) following the same kind of approach for processes other than examinations in mbo, hbo and wo. We will start this in January 2025, prioritising the establishment of a standard data exchange language for flexible learning pathways.
