Samenvatting
This exploration focuses on the question of how monitoring can contribute to an ever-changing educational practice. Not as a means of control, but as a tool for insight, reflection and enabling strategic choices. Monitoring is seen as a starting point for professional growth – individually, in teams and within the broader organisational level.
The study shows that education professionals need insight into digital competences, provided that insight is shared, secure and purposeful. The power of monitoring lies not in the measurement itself, but in the discussion that arises from it.
The choice for a future-proof monitor does not therefore have to lead to a single national instrument, but to an approach that is modular, context-sensitive and supportive. Three directions are promising: using the Discovery Tool in the Dutch context, expanding the iXperium monitor (for use within higher professional education and university education, as well as for individual insight), and further developing DigCompEdu-based self-build tools.
