Reference Framework 2.0 Course
AI and data offer opportunities for education, but also raise ethical and legal questions. The Reference Framework 2.0 helps education professionals (from policymakers to teachers) to make responsible choices in this area. The framework was developed in close collaboration with the education sector and is widely supported by sector associations from secondary vocational education, higher professional education and university education. Educational institutions can use this reference framework to get started themselves. Could you use some help with this? Would you like to submit specific questions and examples? And would you like to consult with colleagues from other institutions? Then sign up for the reference framework course. Please note: the working language of the event is Dutch
Programma
- Background and purpose of the reference framework (Chapter 1 Reference Framework 2.0)\
- The legal framework: the GDPR and the AI Act (Chapters 4 and 5 Reference Framework 2.0)
- The importance of (ethical) values in the use of study data (Chapter 3 Reference Framework 2.0)
- Study data, AI and responsibilities (Chapters 2 and 6 Reference Framework 2.0)
- A practical approach (Chapter 7 Reference Framework 2.0)
- Review of day 1, repetition of the most important points of attention in the context of ethics and GDPR.
- Discussion of the various roles involved in conducting research (chapter 6 reference framework)
- Discussion of a case study. The case study is based on an existing situation that has been adapted for the course. During the discussion of the case study, the research will be discussed from the perspective of the GDPR and the Reference Framework 2.0, more specifically the elements from day 1.
Over the course of two half-days, you will be introduced to the reference framework. We will go through the content and, above all, allow plenty of time for interaction and the sharing of your own case studies. You will participate alongside other policy officers, lecturers, ICTO professionals and business analysts. By the end, you will have gained both theoretical and practical experience with the reference framework.
In this course:
- You will learn how to apply the reference framework within your own institution.
- You will learn from colleagues at other institutions how they address issues surrounding privacy and ethics.
- You will learn how to have well-informed discussions with your FG, privacy officer, AI Officer or ethics committee.
During the course, there will be opportunities for interaction between participants and for them to contribute their own case studies. Prior to the course, participants will be given the opportunity to submit questions or case studies. Questions can of course also be asked during the course.
